It was tough finding 3 things today.  Not because I had a bad day – there was plenty ‘right’ about it.  I’m just feeling tired and lonely and finding 3 much smaller, less consequential things to focus on felt forced.  Fake.

It’s okay not to feel optimistic and on-top-of-the-world every day.  But it’s not okay to dwell on the bad stuff, either.

So, here we are.  I have 3 things that made me smile.  And while they may not be life changing moments, or experiences I relay to friends when we catch up over a drink, they mattered in the moment and that’s the whole point.

  1. I’m on to the sleeve of the cardigan I’m knitting.  That’s progress.
  2. Having a cozy night off in front of the TV tonight, before an early morning flight tomorrow.
  3. Txting with the Tall One.  Because even in completely different timezones, talking rubbish with him is still one of my favourite things to do.

What were your top 3 things today?

  1. I love this post. I believe that everybody must find things to be happy about every day, whether they be big or little. You’re right, though, that it’s okay to not be happy, as long as you try to get away from it. So, keep doing what you’re doing. I’m loving it! 🙂
